I appeared Sunday night in a special program on French national public television (Channel 5) on American politics which also featured Roger Cohen of the New York Times. The specific segment in which I was shown dealt with the disastrous effects of the Coronavirus on New York City.
As you are all very busy people, I have condensed the program into an approximately 3-minute highlight film in which I took the host on a tour of the deserted streets of Midtown Manhattan. During the tour, I pointed out the large number of vacant offices, which has had a calamitous impact on the ecosystem of small businesses which office tenants support. However, I expressed confidence that with a return to health many of the absent office workers will return to their posts, and New York City will once again be the thriving metropolis that we all know and love to the benefit of all.
By the way, the cheerful fellow in the Tottenham Hotspur hat accompanying me on the tour is my business partner and husband Eric.
We anticipate increased activity in the office leasing market as vaccines are rolled out on a larger scale. Of course, we look forward to keeping you informed on market conditions in future dispatches. And if you have any real estate questions, we’re here to help.
